This family was taking photos for mommies birthday not holiday photos, although I’m sure they could use them for both. What a special gift from her husband! We meet at the beach and got done to beach business. The kids loved playing in the sand, finding rocks and giving them to mommy and daddy. I meet this family this past weekend on the beach here in Carlsbad. Mom wanted to capture images of her girls and granddaughter. You can tell the love this family shares just by hanging out with them, the closeness they have and their love for mom and grandma. I also noticed the quiet beauty in each one of them. The kind of beauty that you see in their eyes, the shyness of being in front of the camera and sweetness they have from within. The camera doesn’t lie though. Sometime just being together is enough. When the days seem to pass by quickly and you have a ton of things on your plate, don’t forget the simple things. When I look at these girls, I look at the subtle way they interact with their parents and see how much love is in this family. While shooting one of the girls, I notice how the other had somehow fallen and daddy was right there comforting her, reminding her that at the end of the session there was ice cream waiting for her. Suddenly all her worries were gone. Then I look at the simple things I get to capture for these families like the beautiful eyelashes on these girls and it reminds me to slow down, and remember the simple things in life. When we first moved to San Diego county 10 years ago (wow…can’t believe it’s been that long), we moved into the Ivey Ranch community. We made such good friends in our community. Although most of us have moved on, we still keep in touch and it’s fun watching our kids grow up. Little miss “M” and my son were the same age when we lived in the neighborhood and now they are 10. What a great weekend in San Diego. The weather was absolutely magnificent and you couldn’t have asked for better weather. I meet the Curtis family at one of the parks by the beach they like to frequent. Little “M” was familiar with the park, squirrels and the trains that pass by. He was full of fun and was quite the daddy’s boy. Little “A” just soaked everything in while peacefully hanging out with mommy most of the time. I’ve known this family for 9 years and it’s always fun to see how much they’ve grown. Our oldest kids were toddlers together so it’s amazing seeing how fast they grow. It’s also fun to see the family dynamics and all their personalities. These 9 day old twin boys were incredible models. They were born to be in front of a camera. So much so that when I left they cried, I think they were sad their session was over ; ) I felted honored to be able to document this time in their lives for this family. Another beautiful family and beautiful day here in Carlsbad. It’s mid October and it feels like it’s still summer. This family was full of fun and energy and kept me on my toes : ) I love the expressions the boys would give me and while I was reviewing the images to edit, the individual images of the boys made my heart MELT. Jennifer contacted me because she was an auction winner from the San Diego Breastfeeding Coalition auction which I had donated to. She informed me she had two year old triplets boys and a 3 year old boy. I meet this family this morning and to be perfectly honest, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I have never photographed triplets before and figured I was in for a surprise, 4 boys under the age of 3…… hum. I was honored to be able to photograph this family and watch the whole dynamics between them. Needless to say I am totally humbled by the parents and how well behaved and mild mannered all 4 boys were. This session left me with a FULL heart and complete admiration for this family in how they were raising these boys. Here’s your sneak peek, I just couldn’t contain myself and had to see the images as soon as I got home : )
I love how big brother has a firm grip on his brothers, makes me fell like he’s protecting them. Then the gentle little finger grip from the smallest one just shows me how gentle he is.
This one makes my heart swoon…..sigh!!
